About us
Dije Cares Foundation
Founding Inspiration
The Dije Cares Foundation (DCF) was founded out of a personal burden carried by Ene Adole, a compassionate young woman with a heart deeply stirred by the suffering of the poor and neglected. Growing up in northern Nigeria in a relatively comfortable household, she was surrounded by stark inequality—witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of poverty, hunger, preventable illness, and educational deprivation
The Foundation was officially launched at the Abagena Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Makurdi, Benue State, a location symbolically chosen to highlight the humanitarian urgency of Nigeria’s internal displacement crisis. The choice reflects DCF’s philosophy: to start where the need is greatest.
This day marked more than a public unveiling—it was a birthing moment for a vision long carried in private. The atmosphere of the flag-off was filled with emotion, hope, and unity as members of the Foundation, IDP residents, volunteers, and dignitaries came together under one purpose: empowerment through love and support.
The Name “Dije”
“Dije” is a name of northern Nigerian origin meaning “blessing” or “gift.” It embodies the very essence of what the Foundation stands for: being a gift to humanity, particularly to those the world has cast aside. Dije Cares Foundation is about being a blessing—not in words, but in action.
Efforts So Far
Though newly formalized, DCF had been quietly working behind the scenes even before its public debut.
Among its accomplishments:
Informal sponsorship of schoolchildren in northern Nigeria
Distribution of food and clothing to impoverished families
Quiet provision of medical support to ill, low-income individuals
Direct outreach to displaced persons in Benue State
The 2024 flag-off signifies a shift from quiet support to structured expansion and national presence.
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
Out-of-school children
Orphans and vulnerable youth
Widows and single mothers
Rural poor and urban slum dwellers
Communities affected by conflict or natural disasters
